Last weekend in the NFL playoffs there were two conference championship games: the AFC Championship, in which the Indianapolis Colts played against the New York Jets, and the NFC Championship, in which the Minnesota Vikings faced the New Orleans Saints.
The winners of these two games will be in the Super Bowl; that's the game everyone watches for the commercials. For sports fans like myself, the game is the most fun part to watch, and the commercials add to the fun. A pressing question is hanging over the heads of sports fans: who is going to the Super Bowl? By this issue goes to print we will have found out, but if I could pick the match up right now, I would have to put my vote in for the Colts vs. Vikings.
The Colts are led by quarterback Peyton Manning, who won a Super Bowl a few years ago, and is the reigning MVP of the NFL. Manning is considered by many to be one of the greatest QBs of all time. Every year, he takes the Colts on his shoulders and has them going into the playoffs. He distributes the ball to all of his receivers, some well known, like Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clarke, or others who are not, such as Austin Collie and Pierre Garcon. Manning also has a great offensive line to block for him, which gives him time to throw to his receivers. With all the talk about Manning, most people overlook the Colt's defense. But, with the help of Dwight Freeney, the Colts' defense keeps them in ball games when Manning and the offense struggle.
The Vikings are led by the legendary Brett Favre, who won a Super Bowl for the Packers in the mid-nineties and now plays for the Packer's rival. Favre, in recent years, has caused much heartache in the sports world when he decided to retire and un-retire many times. After a one-year stint with the Jets, Favre once again retired and then un-retired to come play for the Vikings. However, at 40 years old, Favre is having one of his most impressive years yet. With the help of a good running attack-Adrian Peterson-and plenty of offensive weapons--Percy Harvin and Sydney Rice-the Vikings are looking to help Favre get to another Super Bowl. The Vikings also have a strong defense based off the play of sack-master Jared Allen.
If both teams win their conference championships, this match up could happen. I think it would be a very exciting game and give sports fans a Super Bowl to remember. It could be another win for Manning or another loss for Favre. I, personally, hope Manning wins, but a part of me knows that if he does, everyone will have to deal with Favre's retiring. Either way, I'm excited to see what happens and cannot wait for this year's Super Bowl.

Hey, I think you should know that Super Bowl is two words. Not one. Time to get to editing staff.
