Tennis teams enter playoffs hot

"We are happy to end the regular season on a good note," senior Oshada Wijemanne said. "Both the men and women's teams perform well overall."
The FMU women's team finished the day with a sweep, defeated the Lady Bulldogs 9-0 overall. Tereza Sykorova defeated Fanni Fricska 6-1, 6-2 in singles competition while Kristyna Horakova defeated Daria Sekerina 6-0, 6-3. The girls will wrap up their regular season ranked #18 and #48 respectively.
The 17th ranked FMU men will be entering the post-season 5th in the PBC standings with an overall record of 15-4. All four of the team's losses have been to conference opponents that will be participating with FMU in the Peach Belt Conference Championship. The showdown will be held in Morrow, GA on April 17-19.
"We are looking forward to trying to extend our season and reach our goals," senior Oshada Wijemanne said. "In order for us to succeed, we need to improve on some of the mistakes we made against the teams we lost against during the regular season."
The 8th ranked FMU women will be entering the post-season 3rd in the PBC standings with and overall record of 16-3 and a conference record of 8-2. The team's two conference losses came at the hand of. Armstrong Atlantic and Columbus St, which will be entering the PBC Championship ranked just ahead of FMU at #1 and #2 respectively.
