Audience members asked why forum participants decided to join a sorority or fraternity, whether hazing is prevalent in Greek life, how to join and what the requirements to be a member are.
Representatives of each organization took turns answering each question. Their answers were both helpful and blunt.
"Each organization present conducted themselves in an intelligent and respectful manner," said Daphne Carter, event coordinator of Multicultural and International Student Affairs.
"Each group was given the autonomy to speak from their heart, and the responses were, without a doubt, extraordinary."
After the question-and-answer session ended, the fraternities and sororities took the floor to show their Greek pride and stepped for the audience.
"The purpose of the NPHC Greek Forum was to allow members of historically African-American Greek member organizations the chance to educate others about their organization," Carter said.
"It also gave students a chance to talk personally with members of Greek letter organizations that interest them. I enjoyed watching the students interact with each other and think that this layout should be implemented in the future."
This event received lots attention from the student body and attracted many potential members.
"There was a turnout of over 350 people, validating the success of this event," Carter said.
