The indoor pool has re-opened and is available for use after undergoing about $750,000 in renovations. Improvements include new lighting, doors, windows, and air and heating units, as well as resurfacing of the pool. The drop ceiling also was removed. Damage had been caused by dehumidification and corrosion, university officials said.
Student Government Association (SGA) officers and senators said they hope to resolve by May many of the student concerns addressed at their first town hall meeting last month. "If we can, all (of the issues) will be resolved by the end of the semester," SGA President Everett "Robbie" Robinson said.

The first annual Florence Energy Film Festival will feature films that focus on the environment and energy conservation, as well as a discussion by a panel of experts. The festival will take place from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at the Florence Public Library.
